Echoes Of Harper’s Ferry
After recording a demo, Patrick; Rozco; and I first started playing shows in April 2007. The idea behind the band was to write personally and socially meaningful songs, while at the same time doing what we love to do – playing music – and hanging out. With the exception of the addition of our friend Jeff in May 2008, nothing much has changed since the first show we played. We love to play music, hang out with our friends, meet new friends, help out touring bands, tour when we can, and provide events that anyone can come to and feel included. Three bands that have made a huge impact on us include the Broadways, the Honor System, and Small Brown Bike.
Somewhere along the way, I think we all fell in love with punk rock. In many respects though punk rock has become a marketing tool, a fashion trend, and a vehicle for capitalist endeavors. That’s not what we fell in love with, and we hope in some small way, we can bring social relevance, and disregard for mainstream trends, back into what changed our lives.
