So the third lock and key collective birthday show is right around the corner. August 7th to be exact and its going to be a doozy! We are going to Garfield Artworks and Teddy Duchamp’s Army, the band that started it all over here on lock and key, is crawling out of hibernation to play! In addition to TDA, Captain, We’re Sinking, The Holy Mess, Dandelion Snow, and a few more will be there.

Rad Fest and Dandelion Snow

So next weekend is Rad Fest and everyone should make a point to try and catch some Lock and Key bands. We got American Armada, Captain We’re Sinking, Reverse the Curse, and The Holy Mess all playing. Oh ya, did I mention we are releasing a Holy Mess EP? No? well we are, and its awesome, so deal with it!

Also, we just finished printing the sleeves for Dandelion Snow’s The Grand Scheme of Things. It’ll Be out in June, and it’s awesome. Definitely his best work yet! So make sure you make it out to one of the CD release shows for that.

New News!

Whats up everyone! we haven’t posted anything in awhile, but it doesn’t meant nothing is going on. We are currently working on two new releases, both are in coordination with other labels which is really exciting and what the collective is all about!

First, we are releasing the Voice In The Wire Signals In Transmission album on vinyl with the help of Underground Communique Records and Eyeball Records. If you are familiar with our first release, Teddy Duchamp’s Army, VITW is an extension of that band. Killer stuff, they are playing a reunion show/vinyl release show on Feb. 26th at garfield artworks with american armada, allies, and NONE MORE BLACK! check it out!

Second, we are working with Dandelion Snow again. This time we are releasing a full length in cooperation with Big Bullet Records. The record was produced by Chris #2 of Anti-Flag and the songs are incredible. When its finished please make sure you get a copy. This kid is the next Connor Oberst.

In addition to that exciting new American Armada is in the studio working on a new record, and Captain, We’re Sinking is in the latter stages of writing what will become their next full length. Both of those records will knock us all on our asses when they are done I’m sure!

Finally, we are going to be a hosting a Frank Turner basement show here in Pittsburgh. If you are familiar with Frank Turner, you know how awesome that is going to be. It’s going down on March 3rd, and if you are interested in coming please email lockandkeycoATgmailDOTcom for more info.

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to our new friend YUYA in Japan. We sent Yuya some Lock and Key releases to distro in Japan and every copy was sold in what seemed like minutes!

Hopefully, we’ll make it over there sooner than later to rock YUYA and friends! See you in Japan!

We just received word today that AMERICAN ARMADA and CAPTAIN WE’RE SINKING will both be playing the fest this year!! If you cant tell by all the CAPS we are stoked! We love No Idea and the bands they’ve worked with over the years. The fest has always been something we respected and this is an amazing honor to be a part of it!! We cant wait!
